Thanks very much! I really didn't want to store my obi in that hexagon shape. I really appreciate your input! Although I would leave my kimono and obi hanging around, for the love of the garments, I won't do it!

Hmm. Just wondering, after I've sewn my first lined kimono from scratch, would it be wise to take apart a lined silk kimono, wash the pieces separately, and then sew it back together? I have several pieces of silk kimono that I've never washed ever since I bought them, and I'm wondering whether I should.
I usually take apart my cotton yukatas to wash and then sew back together again, but recently I just washed one whole and it turned out okay... I don't think that would work with kimonos, but wondering whether anyone has had problems with uneven shrinking on cotton material?
