Ok, I tried to experimentally clean a shiromuku and got some stains out, but also did some damege to the seams in the lining. also, there is some damage to the lining near the hem. Should I sell it to one of y'all who promises to re-construct it for about $50 or so? The outside is silk and in good condition. Or should I hack it and sell the pannels (which are in good condition)? Or should I try and pay someone to reconstruct it for me? So, will one of you who can sew kimonos buy it from me? Or what do you reccomend? This is my only surviving shiromuku (I had 3 to start with). One was given to a friend for its own protection, another was burned. I'd like to get this last one restored/preserved, or at least get some money out of it to put towards another one.

Hmm. How bad is the damage? It might be worth it to post some pictures of it... I know how to sew kimonos, but I'm not too sure whether I'm good enough to reconstruct a uchikake. . And I do live quite far away from you. But if it's salvageable I don't mind taking it off your hands and trying to reconstruct it.
