Wearing formal kimono in bad weather

Hi,

What should I wear over a formal montsuki/haori outfit on a rainy day to protect the silk robes? If they got wet, the black dye would ruin the haori's lining and the mons. So, I'm curious about that. Sometimes, when the weather's good and I'm away from home, I wear this stuff. I wanted to wear it to lunch today, but there was rain.

It's not Japanese, but how about those clear poncho- like raincoats they sell for 99 cents?

The clear plastic will allow people to see your robes and it's light. I sometimes where them over my costume when I cosplay at anime cons.
