Hi everybody...
I really hope someone here can help me. I've been collecting kimono for about 7 years now, and I've never had a problem like this before. Tonight was halloween, and my younger brother decided he wanted to be a samurai, and wanted me to be a geisha with him. That's fine I thought, and I made the mistake of wearing a hikizuri. The nagajuban was red, and somehow, under, under the obi, the die from the nagajuban came up and stained a portion of the kimono...
the kimono itself is beige, at least the area where the stain is... the dye is an oranish red. Since it just happened, I want to get it out as soon as a I can before it sets. Should I get it dry cleaned? should I use bleach or peroxide? Please help!! I'm desperate

There isn't much that can be done now. Getting the stain out would require a major cleaning effort by a professional with no guarantees of success. However, if you wear the same kimono again, the stain should be covered again by the obi and other accessories as before. Incidentally, the stain probably resulted from your perspiration. A set of cotton or other asborbant underwear worn under the nagajuban, might have helped or reduced the final effect.
