Just out of curiosity - has anyone seen an obi or kimono decorated with a Christmas or holiday motif? In the States the most common clothing items with a holiday theme are scarves, sweaters, shirts and men's neckties.
Christmas is a huge secular holiday in Japan, and perhaps the Western celebration has worked its way into the "fabric" of the culture. I have seen tsukesage with pine tree motifs, but never kimono with snowflakes or snow covered mountains. Since kimono wear is very conscious to the seasons it would seem as if there would be some designs with at least a winter theme.
